Referrals

  • Regulating your blood sugar during pregnancy helps minimize some risks associated with fetal development, gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. Eating protein with every meal or snack is a great way to maintain balance.

  • Swimming is one of the best exercises for every stage of pregnancy. Whether you’re an experienced swimmer or not, simply floating in the water can help alleviate aches and pains. Going for walks or gentle yoga are also great options!

  • Consider planning an exciting activity around your guess date. A special night out or time with family or friends will give you an extra oxytocin boost! Just make sure the plans can be postponed if you do go into labor!

  • Speaking of oxytocin, stay as connected to your partner and/or family as you can as your baby grows. A strong, safe, supported partnership can make all the difference during labor and delivery.

  • Minimize exposure to environmental toxins and pollutants, such as certain cleaning products, pesticides, and plastics, which can potentially impact fetal development.

  • Educate yourself about postpartum care, including physical recovery, emotional well-being, breastfeeding support, and resources available for postpartum depression or anxiety.

  • Protect your skin from harmful UV rays by using sunscreen and wearing protective clothing, as hormonal changes during pregnancy can make your skin more sensitive to sunburn.

  • Besides water, consider incorporating hydrating foods like fruits and vegetables into your diet to ensure adequate hydration, especially if you struggle to drink enough water.

  • If experiencing morning sickness, rinse your mouth with water or a fluoride mouthwash after being sick to help protect tooth enamel from erosion caused by stomach acid.
